Words That Inspire Us
They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.
Enterprise Community Partners in Southern California anointed WORKS, including Channa Grace and the entire WORKS team, Enterprise Trailblazer of the Year, at its 12th annual Southland Social Gala on October 17, 2019. Two other exemplary leaders were honored at the same ceremony, including:
Dr. Manual Pastor, James Rouse Spirit of Enterprise Award
Race Forward, Enterprise Change Agent of the Year
The honorees were recognized for their work to Build Equity for all Angelenos.
Enterprise’s tribute to WORKS: “Women Organizing Resources Knowledge and Services (WORKS) is a dedicated community development organization that works to deliver quality affordable housing and enriched services, and to expand equitable opportunity for residents and the surrounding communities they serve.”
At this gala, Enterprise Community Partners sought to raise the profile and urgency of work to Build Equity within community development and the sectors that serve to support it. The theme was a call to action for all to apply the tools, voices, capital and collective power needed to build inclusive neighborhoods where race and origin are not a predictor of life outcomes.
Enterprise Community Partners in Southern California works to build and promote equitable communities, to strengthen the regional homeless delivery system and capacity of frontline organizations, and advance an enabling public policy agenda for safe, stable and quality affordable housing in the region.
